The Next Starbucks Generation

Today confirmed what I'd been fearing all along-- my kids are becoming the next generation Starbucks addicts! All because their mother loves it so. :)

At lunchtime, we pulled up to our closest and dearest Starbucks as M jubilantly stated, "Let's get some coffee!" Then, as we drove around to the drive-thru window and the lady handed me my drink, M shouted, "I'd like Americano too." The lady cracked up, to which I replied, "Yes, I've officially influenced the next Starbucks generation." My love of a nonfat, decaf Americano with two Splenda has rubbed off--M loves it too!! Lord, help us! :)

There is just something about pulling up and placing my order; something about the feeling of the cup in my hand; something about that logo that makes me feel stupendous and ready to take on the world! lol. Oh commercialism--together we've already ruined my children! :)

Oh well, I guess in this journey of motherhood, there are far worse influences than a cup of joe. The only thing I'm dreading is the price tag of two future Americanos! :)
God bless you today and God bless Starbucks!

lol Jess! :) I would adore working at Starbucks in the future... What a great idea! A little p/t barista work never hurt a gal with a Masters! lol. And yes, my newest drink is the Americano over the Latte--fewer calories and the same, great Espresso taste! :) Hugs!

Girl, you are PREACHING TO THE CHOIR here. I see the logo and my heart goes pitter-patter. Thank God for drive-thrus! I'm a latte girl myself, what is an Americano like?

I LOVE STARBUCKS!!!!!!!!! Oh good grief, I could have it every day. My favorite is the While Chocolate Mocha.

Oh Rachel, the Americano is everything the Latte is, yet lighter. You get the great espresso taste and you hardly miss the steamed milk (its steamed water instead), especially if you put cream in your coffee anyway! I use fat free half 'n half and its delic'.

I'm creating coffee addicts too. Spencer wakes up every morning and asks for a cappacino. We didn't have Starbucks here for a while and we just went to the local cafes, but now they've opened one on post, so anytime I'm there we have to stop. We love it!

Okay, just one more thing about Starbucks. (And I know I probably sound incredibly stupid and ignorant after Ryan's comment, but anyway ... )

Don't even TRY the petite vanilla scones. They're dangerous. :)
