A French Toast Morning

In the August issue of High.lights High-Five (which the boys adore, by the way!), we came across the recipe for Maple-Cinnamon French Toast. Yum!! We all thought it looked like a good one, so we thought we'd try it out this morning. Here is a how to make Maple-Cinnamon French Toast, Gasperini-Ville style of course:

Step 1) Refer to recipe often and have Mom dictate. Gather ingredients--3 eggs, 1 Tbsp. maple syrup, 1/4 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 Tbsp. milk, 4 slices of bread, and oil for pan. Try to touch every ingredient as it waits on the counter. Get excited!!

Step 2) Quasi-break eggs on the side of a big mixing bowl, spill half of them on your arm, laugh about it, and pour the rest in the bowl. Try not to spill any egg shells (success!) If your name is M, watch your mother and brother struggle to make this all happen and laugh your way through it. Add remainder of ingredients, taking turns between boys. Spill a little here or there, but overall, do a great job.

Step 3) Mix all ingredients vigorously.
Step 4) Dunk bread in "solution" and place it in the hot pan to cook.
Step 5) While you wait, wrestle with your favorite mate.
Step 6) Consume your feast with extra butter and maple syrup. Make sure to argue over who gets the red bowl for syrup, then who gets the red bib to catch said syrup. Mothers: divide the red items and conquer!

Step 7) Clean your plate and take a nice long swig of cold milk! You've done it!
Have a great day!
