How delighted it makes me to walk into a room and find this sight!
Which then led to this...
His own Lego Mars land rover--designed by M, complete with wheels, a satellite dish, camera, and finder. It found its way downstairs today and I thought it was pretty awesome!
To top it off, GG just turned on the TV and found a special on the Apollo 11 space missions. The boys are entranced. I'd say space week is going great!

Great job, G men! Especially, Mr. M...AND teacher B-Mama!
Perhaps one day we'll stand on our balcony and watch M launched off on a Mars mission. WOW!!
One of the books we got at the library is entitled "First Kid On Mars" and the boys are totally into it. They are imagining going up there and being there--pretty cool how literature can do that for us! Also good has been the challenge to separate fact from fiction, as the book gives a lot of cool facts about Mars mixed in with a futuristic fictional tale. Olympus Mons IS the tallest mountain there. It IS 3x the size of Mt. Everest. But a team of scientists did not travel there and take a boy with them! :)
Just awesome, B-mama!! Your camp is getting rave reviews.
I have to say, the part about separating fact from fiction makes me say, UGH!
Trying to get Boo to understand that we ARE in Alaska and that we were in TX is so hard. He thinks AK is a place we should walk into and then leave at the end of the day. I just don't know how else to explain it...we're both getting frustrated. So, explaining fact vs. fiction does not sound like fun (you say it more gracefully when you call it a challenge). Lol!
Oh, I wanted to comment on your breastfeeding post on BC. You penned it perfectly!! Can you believe that I love it? Remember back in the day when I was like, "Uh..no thanks..."
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to leave her for a bottle feeding (she won't take a bottle anymore)but more than anything, I love that she loves it and it soothes her and is our alone time.
Also, I am in no way suggesting that anyone who doesn't breastfeed is making the wrong decision. I struggled so much in the begining both times around. Everyone has to make the decision that is best for their families, and then never look back and don't fret about what others think. We all are just trying to take care of our babies!
Love this!
Oh B! You know me and space 'stuff'. Love that the boys love it too. Go M'!
